Some weight gain
I went to my endocrinologist today for a blood draw – I’ll likely have the results, and Hormone Table updated, on Monday.
I’ve gained a bit of weight in the time that has passed since November 25, 2008. If we were to attach a number to that “bit of weight” that number would be 61 pounds. My doctor, who has let me slide the last two visits, told me I need to do something about the added pounds (likely because this last six months saw a gain of something like 30).
The only reason we’re going to talk about weight here is that ten years or so ago I gained a bunch of weight that I had trouble explaining. AND… when I finally got around to trying to lose the weight I couldn’t. It wasn’t until I started taking Dostinex that the pounds came off.
So what’s up with the weight this time? Simply stated: too much eating, too little exercising.
Rather than bemoan the fact I need to lose a bit of weight, we’re going to celebrate it. For while I’d never gain 50 pounds just to see if I could lose it, or to see what my hormone levels might look like at a higher and lower weight, well, now we have the opportunity. (I just read an article about how obese men typically have lower testosterone than their slim counterparts. I don’t know if it’s tied to the aromatase enzyme – it wasn’t mentioned – but I’ve also read that heavier people have more of the aromatase enzyme… it converts testosterone to estrogen.)
Per my Tanita scale, which is the one we’ll be going by, my starting weight is 295 pounds.
I’ll provide updates every month, otherwise we won’t make too much of this.

Intresting. I would like details!
